was born and raised in Seoul, Korea before moving to Chicago, Illinois at the age of ten. She developed a love for clothing early on, and this interest soon developed into creating her own. Soo's work is both conceptual and extraordinarily simple. She is inspired by the dimensionality of making clothing, the process of forming and creating. The garments find their meaning in the most seemingly insignificant detail, a string of beads or particular seam, but also sometimes explore ideas like vocabulary. A recent show presented a spelling bee, each dress defining words like deciduous, pernicious, or heliotrope. Soo is currently in Antwerp, Belgium pursuing design work there.
